Previews begin May 12th. Opens June 14th.

Lead producers Michael Cohl and Jeremiah J. Harris announced today that SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark has rescheduled its opening night for Tuesday, June 14, 2011. In addition, to allow rehearsal time for the new changes being implemented in the show, performances from Tuesday, April 19th to Wednesday, May 11th have been canceled with preview performances resuming on Thursday, May 12th. This amended schedule will allow the time necessary to execute the plan, which will include revisions to the script.

As a result of the new opening night, the performances on June 12th, June 14th, and both performances on June 15th have been cancelled. Additional shows have been added on June 13th at 7:30 p.m. and June 17th at 2:00 p.m. All ticketholders for the cancelled performances who purchased their tickets through Ticketmaster or at the box office will be offered the option of exchanging or returning their tickets. Ticketholders who purchased through other outlets should contact the point of purchase for further information.

  1. What about ticket holders who have tickets for a performance that was scheduled after the previous " opening " night of March 15th who paid for a finished performance not a work in progress preview ? Those tickets should be either refunded or exchanged as well...... The producers should be ashamed of themselves for the way they are treating theatergoers. Once again it is all about the money !!!

  2. Agreed, this is soo unprofessional, i had tickets for a finished product, not a rehersal of a future broadway show

  3. I paid for tickets in mid-April, and not only is the show still going to be in a pre-opening mode, but now they're going to shut down 3 days after I see it, as the current version isn't good enough. This is the second time I've been burned on this production. I bought tickets 18 months ago when they were going to open the first time. Ridiculous.

  4. I saw the show April 9, 2011 and thought it was fantasntic.. I have no idea why they are adding and changing the music and story line, but hope for their sake it stays as exciting and as excellently done as it was Saturday night..

  5. I am also so very very disappointed and angry. Those who bought tickets ahead of time and have already seen the "preview" were ripped off. I saw the show as a gift for my birthday and Bono and the producers should be ashamed for even thinking of putting out that show. Bono, i heard you were there - didn't you think it stank to begin with? And what were you thinking with that music? I've always loved U2 and that was NOT U2! Now after spending ALOT of money, the show is to be revamped. Is this a ploy to get people to buy tickets AGAIN????? I think everyone who already saw the show should be given tickets again or given the opportunity to see the "new" show at a greatly reduced price!!!

  6. We had bought tickets to Spiderman: Turn Off the Dark for the April 5, 2011 production, and had also planned and booked our trip when the controversy over the show began and continued. After reading many negative reviews, especially concerning Arachne, I mentioned to my sons about the concern of the story line. He replied she sounded like Madam Web. Being a little concerned, and considering we probably would not be back in New York any time soon, I bought tickets to The Lion King also. We saw both productions. After all was said and done, we all agreed that Spiderman: Turn Off the Dark was our favorite. (Go figure, considering all the negative hype over Spiderman: Turn Off the Dark.) As for me, use to eating from the finest table (the Lord's) I paralleled the song "Kiss Me", (not sure of the title) to mans temptation to join himself to that which is something other than God. Psalm 2:2, says, "Kiss the Son..." kiss meaning a mode of attachment. From the creation of man, man has had to choose whom he would kiss. The graphics were very good. We sat M row, Orchestra section, and it appeared Green Goblin was looking right at me flying over. We were not disappointed with the original show.
